The
service is free for the first year. After the first year, Google Assistant
would charge $2 per month. In case you don't wish to have a Google Assistant at
home, you can opt for the service instead. That makes the assistant a good
choice for travelers as well as those who want to manage multiple phone calls
at a time.
There
are a few things which need to be taken care of before you start using this
gadget. First of all, the device needs to support VoIP or Voice over Internet
Protocol. Before connecting it to your phone line, check if the VoIP service is
working. If it is not functioning, switch over to another VoIP provider.
To
avoid long phone conversations, make sure the Google Voice Assistant connects
to your phone via a Wi-Fi network. If it is not available, ask the customer
support to download the required software. Once the software is installed, the
call waiting function will start automatically.
When
you enter the area code of the number to be called, your Google Assistant will
try to connect to the call waiting server. Once the call is received, your
Assistant will inform you that the call is being placed and will advise you of
the extension you have been provided with. Extension refers to the number of
minutes your phone has been switched on. After that, your Assistant will
connect to the caller.
The
next step is for you to press send once your call has been placed. Since your
Google Assistant is still in the process of connecting to the caller, it will
not start tracking the calls that were made and answered. To do that, log into
your Google account and track the calls that were placed through your Google
Voice Assistant. You will be able to know how many were successfully placed and
answered and whether or not your call was hung up on.
